This place is a wonderland. Must see. The variety of plants and trees are amazing. You cannot see it all in one day, species I have never seen or dreamed of. The art is inspiring and colorful throughout a variety of mediums. WW2 Bronze Star recipient, Baker retired to his art through different media and decades. It is a beauty to behold.

A beautiful way to pass time and learn a little about art while browsing the beautiful plants they have near by. Place is large and worth the stop by! Also no ticket needed to enter, its free! Though 10$ donations are recommended if possible!

We stopped here as a rest and stretch stop while traveling. The arboretum is smaller than I anticipated, but very pleasant to walk through. The art museum is also very nice. Both are free to tour, but a small donation is suggested.

What a fantastic, quaint museum! I've never heard of Joseph Dudley Downing, but was very impressed with his work and style. Because of the weather I wasn't able to appreciate much outside of the museum, but it looks like it would be lovely in the summer.

20241210 I wasn't sure if I should drive 72 from Nashville to just walk around the Arboretum with my pups. I am really glad that I did. I emailed about the pet policy, and the lady responder was so nice, and dogs are allowed in the gardens. I was the only visitor there today, and I had such a relaxing and quiet time walking around the gardens, checking out the Baker House and museum through the windows. The garden is pretty small but there is a lot to see. I was more interested in seeing the layout of the gardens and plants, the unique rocks and their placement, and the sculptures. The Baker home was not fancy like some mansions I've visited, but it's still very nice. It was nice to be able to look inside and check out the furniture, drapes, artwork, etc... through the windows. Apparently, you can rent the Baker house for events. There is a map of the property on a huge board by the parking lot, and a donation box. The restrooms are by the parking lot near the museum in its own building. I'm happy that I stopped by. I had a nice time.
